Here are some other katana builds I have done over the years. 1982 750cc bikes that have been fitted with 1100cc engines are among them. The 1100cc katana engine bolts right into the 750 katana frame (1982-1983) as they are identical save one point. The lower motor mount is about one inch further forward than the 750cc katana frame. This is easily converted with a little fabbing of a new lower motor mount.
All the electrics are the same as well, so all you have to do is pull one engine out and put the other one in. I lied, the oil sending unit is behind the cylinders on the 1100 where as the 750 katana it is on the front of the motor.
Above is a nice clean 1982 GS750sz with a 1982 GS1100sz engine, 1983 GSXR 1100 forks and wheels, Bandit 1200 swing arm conversion (parts available on my parts page) and after market SPA tach/speedo combination. The GSXR 750 (1993-94) fit the katana the best in regard to the clearance with the faring. The GSXR 1100 forks require cutting and fabbing the front faring to enable clearance. After this build I preferred to use the GSXR 750 (1992-93) forks with a 2000 Honda 954 triple tree. You need the 954 triple with the tapered bearings, they will bolt right into the katana frame.
Below are a couple older builds I did. A 1983 GS1100sd katana with the basics, GSXR 1100 running gear conversion with a polished Bandit 1200 swing arm, and a 1982 GS750sz katana with a GS1150ef engine.
